Certification

Certified Agencies of Monmouth County and Ocean County

The USLA-NJ Certification standards are the same as the USLA national standards. The program, established in 1984, is administered by the USLA-NJ Certification Committee to facilitate compliance with the requirement of the New Jersey Bathing Code (N.J.S.A. 8:26) that all open water beaches have lifeguard training programs approved by the United States Lifesaving Association.

* Also nationally certified.

** Also nationally advanced certified - Advanced agency certification is intended to recognize and encourage higher training standards, such as DOT First Responder level training for part-time lifeguards, Emergency Medical Technician certification for full-time lifeguards, longer training periods, and other requirements.
